Community & Initiatives
We offer a wide range of community and initiatives programs aimed at promoting mental health and supporting individuals affected by mental and substance use conditions.
These programs focus on various aspects, including Workplace Wellness & Community Advocacy. Through these initiatives, MHASWFL aims to provide educational programs and resources that cater to the specific needs of different groups within the community. By raising awareness, advocating for diversity and cultural competence, and offering support networks, MHASWFL is dedicated to creating a healthier and more inclusive environment for all.
Empowering Your Workplace, One Wellness Step at a Time!
Workplace Wellness Program
Representatives of businesses and organizations will educate the staff of MHASWFL regarding their missions, goals and perceived needs. We, in turn, inform them about how mental health issues may influence their ability to reach their goals and how a program we present can address their perceived needs. Together we will identify educational programs which can best serve the employees while advancing the goal of Promoting the highest level of mental health in our community.

Community Advocacy
Mental health is a fundamental social justice issue. There is no health without mental health. Concern for the public’s health demands that disparities in treatment and the disproportionality of the burden of illness be eradicated. We require change that is commensurate to the enormous magnitude of behavioral health problems in multiple aspects of our culture, our communities, our neighborhoods and our families. MHASWFL represents a growing movement of individuals who promote mental wellness for the health and well-being of the community. This movement must engage and involve the general public as well as persons with mental and substance use conditions in all its aspects.
