Caring and listening from years of life experiences and education are why I work so effectively with anxiety, grief, depression, and trauma. I specialize with individuals 40-years and older, as well as those with a history of trauma and grief. I am trained in a number of evidence-based treatments, including EMDR for past trauma, and CBT for depression and anxiety. I can also share techniques in relaxation and the ever-popular Mindfulness practices. Because of my more than 60 years of life experience, I am able to quickly empathize and identify specific issues of distress, and share coping skills for immediate help.
My academic background is one beginning with a BA in psychology from Aquinas College in Michigan, a highly-qualified teaching certificate for the state of Nevada, a MA in Education from Sierra Nevada College, and a MA in Mental Health Counseling from Seton Hall U. I’m also credentialed in EMDR and CBT and a member of the American Psychological Association.
I am also trained in Mindfulness, or a path to improving one’s center in life and a clearer perspective. The aim in so many life transitions is re-initiating self-esteem and creating a vision for self-awareness and positive goals. The trust built with my clients from my academic and life’s experiences can be the path of reclaiming anyone’s future.
